For nearly 90 years, flora and fauna have been flourishing in the guarded acres of Wing Haven Garden in Charlotte. Tucked behind Queens Road, this garden has provided a great place for residents to stroll, relax and escape the hustle and bustle of the Queen City. A parade of mummies crossing a busy city street. It sounds like an image from the world’s lamest horror movie, silliest comedy, or—best case scenario—trippiest episode of Scooby Doo. But would you believe that it really happened, right in the middle of the Queen City?
