The Art Institute of Charlotte: Queen City Creativity
There is a tendency, among some of us, to believe that creativity is something that comes, by and large, as a matter of natural ability, or of instinct. It’s something you’re either born with or you aren’t. To an extent, that might be true, but it is equally true that creative talent is something you learn, you hone, and you cultivate. After all, even if you have the world’s greatest imagination, you still have to learn the basics of your medium—of drafting, painting, or what have you.
That’s why the Art Institutes exist. With forty campuses located throughout the nation, the Art Institutes provide professional instruction in some of the most vital creative fields that exist. Charlotte, North Carolina is the home to one of these Institutes; the Art Institute of Charlotte is one of the Queen City’s premier educational facilities, and certainly a tremendous option for anyone seeking training in a creative field.
The Art Institute of Charlotte follows the same basic template of its counterparts in other cities; that is, its program is divided into four basic components. The first of these is Design, which could be further subdivided into Graphic Design, and Interior Design. The Art Institute of Charlotte offers Bachelor- and Master-level degrees in both fields. The second field—and one that you might not initially assume to be part of an Art Institute—is Culinary Arts. Students can work toward either a full degree in the culinary world, or simply a certification in cooking or pastry baking. Naturally, these programs all come recommended for any Charlotte natives interested in a career in the food business!
Rounding out the curriculum are a program in Fashion, where students can study the management, marketing, and retail aspects of designer clothing; and Media Art, which includes everything from web design to photography to filmmaking. Clearly, the options are many, and the Art Institute of Charlotte is fully accredited and taught by top professionals in these respective fields, making it an educational experience you can trust to be immersive, expansive, and focused on the practical, real-world dimensions of creative practice.
The Art Institute of Charlotte is not the only facility for higher education that you’ll find in the Queen City, of course. If a career in a creative field is what interests you, though, this is a school that demands to be considered. And for artists outside of Charlotte, it’s a great reason to give the Queen City a visit!
