Thanks to a pleasant regional climate, these gardens are capable of providing a breathtaking insight into the natural beauty of the Carolinas. During potentially snowy winter months, experience the refreshing southern chill that blows through the area. Fall and spring provide one of a kind transitions between summer and winter, allowing you to take a break from the heat or the cold and wander comfortably through the Garden grounds. Summer is also a great time to visit the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden in Charlotte, North Carolina, as it provides an attraction that all ages will enjoy (even little ones on break from school). As a symbol of beauty and an example of how botanically diverse the Queen City is, and the South in general, Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden is a prime example of the nature of the region.

Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden is located on 400 acres of property that was bequeathed by Daniel Jonathan Stowe, who intended for the land to showcase the natural beauty of the area for generations to enjoy. Over the course of 3 years, professionals designed a master plan that would make this vision a reality. In 1994 these plans were approved and in 1999 the first three phases of the attraction opened: the Visitor Pavilion, the Formal Display Gardens, and the Perennial Gardens. Since then, development has continued and is projected to last for several decades.

Bordering Lake Wylie, another popular destination in the Queen City, Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden was rated one of the top 20 Great Gardens in the United States by HGTV. Visitors can opt for a guided group tour, which educates them about the beautiful plant and insect life that lives on the property, or to explore the property on their own. No matter which option you choose when you visit the Garden, you can be certain that you will enjoy one of the most unique and beautiful experiences that Charlotte, North Carolina has to offer.
